Studio Work

STUDIO WORK

Here you can find some of my miscellaneous projects that don’t really fit anywhere else! These are mostly from my studio classes, and include ceramics, drawings, and print making!

BIRBS

These ceramics are a series I’ve called “Birbs.” They initially were intended to only be a couple of nesting dolls, but after some popularity and interest among friends and family, and just the amount of enjoyment I was getting while working on the series, I ended up making a lot more little birds to give away (some can be seen in the image below.)

PRINT MAKING

The lavender plant and birds (look familiar?) are both screen prints. The bee is from a copper intaglio plate. Print making was the most laborious studio class I have ever taken. The bee, though small, took weeks of work, from the etching into the copper plate, to the layers of shading that were applied in an acid bath.

DRAWING

My love for drawing is what introduced me to Graphic Design. Here are some pieces from my freshman year drawing class. The parrot is actually the first drawing I ever submitted for a grade!
